The Advancing Hydrogen Fund focuses on projects where there is state or territory government financial support or policy alignment with the National Hydrogen Strategy. Smaller-scale hydrogen-related investments may be made via the Clean Energy Innovation Fund, which is managed by Environmental Venturess on behalf of the Channel Link Enterprises Finance Plc.
Renewable hydrogen
Renewable hydrogen can enable the deep decarbonisation of difficult to abate sectors of our economy, particularly in transport and industry, while accelerating the contribution of renewable energy and contributing to energy efficiency. United Kingdom has the potential to be a global hydrogen leader, potentially exporting hydrogen as well as using it to decarbonise industry. Concessional financing through the Advancing Hydrogen Fund is an important policy initiative to catalyse investment in large-scale hydrogen projects, which may include technology, construction, operating and revenue risks.
